P&TLuxembourg and ebrc inaugurated on June 28 their new Datacenter, the « Resilience Centre Luxembourg South »

P&TLuxembourg and ebrc inaugurated on June 28, in Kayl, in the South of the Grand-duchy of Luxembourg their 4th Datacenter under the presence of Mr. Jeannot Krecké, Minister of Economy and Foreign Affairs, Mr. François Biltgen, Minister of Communication and Media, other VIPs from the Luxembourgish political and economical worlds as well as staff and clients.

At the same time, ebrc also celebrated its 10th birthday and revealed its new corporate image.

The new Datacenter is called « Resilience Centre Luxembourg South » and stands out as one of the most innovative in terms of technology and security in Europe. Indeed, it will offer a Tier IV classified availability level, which is the highest standard in Business Continuity. The overall investment amounts to more than 100 millions Euros.

Designed to accompany the development of ebrc’s domestic clients and also to lure big global corporations in the Grand-duchy of Luxembourg, this new facility is within 10 kilometres from ebrc’s premises located in the Cloche d’Or area and over 20 kilometres apart from the « Resilience Centre Luxembourg West » located in Windhof. It has one of the highest redundancy levels available in Europe.

Uncontested leader in Business Resilience within a 350 kilometre radius from the Grand-Duchy, ebrc is aiming at making Luxembourg the European Capital of Business Resilience. This new Datacenter in Kayl will therefore allow ebrc to reinforce its leading position on the domestic market and, at the same time, contribute to its deployment on the international scene. ebrc also announced today the opening of representation offices in Paris, Brussels and Frankfurt. Moreover, a 5th Datacenter shall be built by 2012 in Betzdorf.

Understanding its impact on the environment and as a socially responsible entity, ebrc commits itself to a sustainable future by following the recommandations made by the «European Code of Conduct ». As a member of « The Green Grid», ebrc abides by the practices of IT professionals aiming at energy efficiency for Datacenters. ebrc latest facilities are thus using 100% of green energy.

The IT rooms’ net surface reaches 5,200 m² and offers fully customisable private IT suites in addition to the 6,700 m² of IT spaces already located in the other three Datacenters operated by ebrc.

This new site can host up to 400 « back-office » or « front-office » users in recovery solutions, with the total and fully transparent deployment of a bank, investing funds actors, trading rooms or any other company suffering from a disaster or a temporary unavailability within two hours.
